Spurs receive Kramer boost

Obtaining Christoph Kramer was never going to be easy, he is a German World Cup winner with a contract until 2019.

Bayer Leverkusen chairman Michael Schade has confirmed that they have an agreement with 26-year-old (27 in April) Chilean central midfielder Charles Aránguiz. He has 40 international caps for Chile and the Bundesliga side are trying to come to an agreement with his Brazilian club, Internacional.

Kramer played primarily as a central midfielder last season, only on a couple of occasions did he start as a defensive midfielder. Aránguiz, who was linked to Chelsea earlier this window, would be a direct replacement which could allow Kramer to move on if he wants to.

Internacional coach Diego Aguirre believes Aránguiz is about to leave the club. He is being left out of the next game because of 'personal issues' and that there is a possibility Aránguiz may be in his last days at the club.

If Leverkusen have indeed lined up a replacement for Kramer then that could mean that Tottenham, Kramer and Leverkusen all already have agreements in principle in place.

The four part Pochettino interview series continues at 9pm GMT tonight with Part 2.
