Pochettino & VDV embrace Ken Dodd

Rafael van der Vaart regrets ever leaving Tottenham and Josh Onomah just wants to play for Spurs for many years to come. Harry Kane wants to stay and win trophies, Nabil Bentaleb has signed a new contract and believes this is his club, Ryan Mason didn't want to leave, Harry Winks has signed a new deal.

AVB moaned: "In two years I lost [Rafael] van der Vaart, Modric, Bale..." Yet Vdv recalls: "He said to me 'you're not my number one'."

Rafel van der Vaart tells of how Tottenham was a happy place to be, then AVB changed all that and Mauricio Pochettino is bringing it back. The squad now tell of a happy place at Hotspur Way which only helps positivity.

If you have been a Spurs fan for many years as I have and been through thick and thin, through cup victories, European victories and relegation then the words od Van der Vaart are music to the ears, they bring a happy smile to the face. Isn't that a better place to be than depressing yourself moaning and groaning all the time, usually just for the sake of it.

That joy, that happiness inspires better work, happy people work better than miserable people, a policy Mauricio Pochettinio is clearly putting in place at the club again. We enjoyed our time under Harry Redknapp until for well-documented reasons it ended. Looking back at the AVB era can you honestly say that the club felt a happy place?

That isn't how you would sum up his tenure and VDV's words show it was AVB who caused the Dutchman to leave not Daniel Levy as our own perennial moaners like to falsely claim. The feeling Mauricio Pochettino building of Tottenham generates is one of creation. Embracing change, embracing the excitement and hope of a clear strategy will enhance your life as it puts you in a happy mood.

All it really takes is appreciating the opportunities before us but letting go of an ingrained belief is never easy, for some moaning about Spurs is a way of life, but it's not conducive to a happy relationship in any walk of life. Which creates a better life, moaning at your partner all the time or being happy with and towards them?

Who would you rather be Rafael van der Vaart with his happy outlook or Emmanuel Adebayor with his self-centered outlook? Would you rather be a gentleman like Steve Perryman or listen to the moans of Étienne Capoue?

The title of a Ken Dodd song sum it all up, Happiness, happiness the greatest gift that I possess.

Read what is behind that song title and you'll read the route to success, are you bestowing the gift of happiness towards your fellow man and Spurs?
