Watford contact Spurs for Paulinho

Unwanted Brazilian Paulinho, who has been disappointing since his move from Corinthians in the summer of 2013, is wanted by newly promoted Watford.

The Hornets have recently appointed a new manager, Quique Sanchez Flores and he needs to set about building a team to keep them in the Premier Division. Having already made enquiries for Benjamin Stambouli ad Younes Kaboul, they are now turning their attention on Paulinho. They have made contact with Tottenham again asking about the 26-year-olds availability.

Watford have been known recently for having a lot of Italian loan players. They are owned by an Italian businessman, 74-year-old Giampaolo Pozzo, who also owns Udinese in Italy and Granada in Spain. Having agreed a club record fee with Genoa for 26-year-old Argentina winger Diego Perotti, they are looking to further strengthen their midfield.
