Monaco are looking to sell players to raise cash and reduce their wage bill. With Financial Fair Play meaning they have to live within their means they have a problem as when they had a rich owner he subsidised the club. They were splashing the cash on players and then came a very expensive divorce case so money going into the club stopped. The advantages for players is that Monaco does not charge income tax for it's residents, the downside is you play in a small 24,000 seater stadium, only one reason for players to play there clearly, not surprising many want to leave after a year.
Monaco have thus had to cut their cloth accordingly and they tried to get rid of Radamel Falcao to Manchester United but he flopped, now United are considering a move for former Tottenham target 28-year-old (29 in September) Portuguese international midfielder João Moutinho.

It's not often a player gets annoyed with constant transfer speculation about him but 24-year-old Borussia Dortmund midfielder İlkay Gündoğan has. Writing on his official Facebook page, Gündoğan said:
“Dear Fans, Normally I don’t express myself in regards to media reports, definitely not through Facebook. At this time, however, I’d like to set a few things straight and achieve greater insight.“In the previous weeks I have, just like you, kept seeing reports of where and who I hadn’t signed for yet. Today i’m negotiating here, tomorrow i’m getting a medical there.
“At the beginning, I could laugh about it, but once the talk shifted to “Contract Poker ( Read : Playing clubs off against eachother )” and my being a “Ripoff merchant”, I stopped to think.
“After an ominous number appeared in the media yesterday, I’ve decided to say something about this myself. The 2014/15 season isn’t over, strictly speaking, until the 30.06.2015.
“Even though in the whole of europe there have been very few transfers, it has been demanded of me to make a decision as soon as possible with each passing rumour. The whole time, however, lay forgotten that I have one more year left on my contract at Dortmund.
“What’s important to me is this; all of this isn’t a game, or stonewalling. I will do my best to choose a course of action as soon as possible – however, only after the season and after our important European Championship Qualifier with the national team. Until then, your Ilkay.”
