Galatasaray to sign Glik instead of Kaboul

Tottenham have tracked him as a potential replacement for Younès Kaboul, but now Galatasaray have enquired about Polish international captain and centre-back, Kamil Glik.

Glik is the 27-yar-old captain of Italian Serie A side Torino, who don't want to lose him but ure coming under increasing pressure from suitors, ourselves being one, to do just that. Bundesliga sides Wolfsburg and Borussia Dortmund have now been joined by Galatasaray in pursuit of him.

The Turkish champions, they beat rivals Fenerbahçe by 3 points, are looking to buy a centre-back before they put 24-year-old Turkish international Semih Kaya up for sale. TMW are suggesting that a bid of £11.39 million (US$17.94m - AUS$23.15m - €16m)

Reports from Turkey say Glik has a strong desire to play in the UEFA Champions League and that after initial talks they shook hands on a deal, one presumes a deal in principle with the terms to be fully agreed.

It's not looking good for the sale of Kaboul to Galatasaray, although reports say his representatives contacted Fenerbahçe for a move anyway and we can now rule out Kamil Glik coming to Tottenham.
