Daniel Levy will not cut his own throat

Manchester United are set to make a move for Harry Kane despite Kane making it perfectly clear he wants to stay at Tottenham Hotspur and win things with his boyhood club.
There is no chance of Kane leaving as the fans would be in uproar. Spurs have been searching for a goalscorer for some time and though we had solved the problem when buying Roberto Soldado to give competition to Emmanuel Adebayor who generally just went through the motions.
Apart from a spell under Tim Sherwood he doesn't spend enough time in the box and for a big man actually doesn't get on the end of many crosses. Harry Kane was still coming through the ranks when Soldado joined and his goalscoring cameos under Sherwood told us he could score goals at Premier League level.
Confined to the UEFA Europa League he couldn't stop scoring so weight of goals forced Mauricio Pochettino to give him a chance, the rest is history as they say. Kane has what Adebayor doesn't, determination and desire. If you put the same cross in, Kane will bust a gut to get on the end of it before the defender, mush like Alan Shearer used to do, Adebayor is much more a forward who wants the ball on his head, he wants an easier chance created for him.
The Professional Football Association Young Player of the Year will thus be the subject of constant speculation as teams with more money try to throw their weight around and temp Daniel Levy. Goalscorers, and especially home-grown goalscorers are worth their weight in gold, being 'one of our own' selling Kane would be a chairman cutting his own throat.
The offer Manchester United are reportedly readying is for 20-year-old Belgian winger Adnan Januzaj, 28-year-old Portuguese winger Nani and 27-year-old Mexican striker Javier Hernández as part of a £50 million (US$76.34m - AUS$100.25m - €68.79m) swap deal.
Unsurprisingly Gareth Bale has also told Manchester United he has no interest in taking a step down to join the Reds. He wishes to stay with the club he has always dreamed of playing for, Real Madrid.
