Could Spurs sign Spiderman?

Our scouts have been busy for the last few months preparing for the summer transfer window. There have been a lot of players to look at and decide whether they merit closer attention or not.

The news from Turkish site Posta is that we have regularly had a scout over there keeping tabs on a player they call 'Spider' because of the number of interceptions he makes. Spurs sign Spideman, I can see the headlines, a marketing man's dream.

His real name is Mehmet Topal and he is a 29-year-old defensive midfielder playing for Fenerbahçe. Turkish international Topal has a contract until 2016 and would provide the experience some are calling for but that is negated by a lack of experience in the Premier League.
