Bartra more likely to leave Barcelona

Tottenham Hotspur are targeting another centre-back to replace the departing Younes Kaboul and Vlad Chiriches, assuming sales are agreed to of course. What we do know is Kaboul won't be seen in a Spurs squad and is actively seeking a move to Turkey.
Clad Chiriches has had two years at the club and is unsuited to the Premier League, he played just 707 minutes, the equivalent to just 7.86 games. Young Austrian Kevim Wimmer has already been signed and Yottenham have spoken to Barcelona and the representatives of 24-year-old Spanish international Marc Bartra.
A clause in his contract that stipulates he has to play at least 30 minutes in 50 Barcelona games over the last 2 seasons or his buyout clause drops to, at today's rates, £8.56 million (US$13.57m - AUS$17.5m - €12m).
Barcelona are arguing that friendly matches count, Bartra's camp insist they don't. Quite frankly it's absurd to include meaningless friendlies in such a calculation.
According to Spanish paper Marca, Bartra is leaning towards leaving rather than staying and that would not be good news for the current Barcelona president, Josep Maria Bartomeu, with their presidential election coming up on 18 July. Having lost one player to this clause last summer Bartomeu won't want to lose another this summer, especially given he is embroiled in court cases over the Neymar transfer and the club are still under a transfer embargo.
With Piqué, Mascherano, Mathieu and the fit again Vermaelen ahead of him in the pecking order he can only see substitute appearances, which would be no good for his international career. The paper say that a meeting with head coach Luis Enrique may convince him to stay but that Bartra doesn't feel that meeting is likely to happen.
Te clause runs out on 30 June so there are just 11 days left if he is to agree to a move and accept one of the various offers he has. One place he will not be going is Portuguese side Porto whose president, Pinto da Costa, has ruled out making a move for him with enough central defenders at the club.
