Spurs offer £715,000 for Italian defender

Tottenham are active looking to get as much business done early as possible, Kevin Wimmer will sign as soon as the window opens and discussions are taking place with both Danny Ings and Kieran Trippier with Burnley.

No doubt we are trying to pull off a double deal similar to the Swansea one last summer which saw Michel Vorm and Ben Davies arrive with Gylfi Sigurdsson going the other way. Ings wants Premier League football though and with Kane in his way that looks unlikely so Liverpool have to be red hot favourites to get him.

Of course they are not the only two we will be talking to at present, Franco Baldini will be sounding out a number of players and getting an idea of whether a deal is possible for all the players on the potential transfer list. In addition, we have to continue to look to the future and acquire the best young talent we can to nurture and develop.

The Italian news outlet TMW have linked us a player playing in Lega Pro in Italy, Juve Stabia player Marco Migliorini. He is a 23-year-old Italian centre-back who has one year left on his contract. Italians are famed for their defending because their mentality sees it as victory if you prevent the opposition from achieving their aim, scoring goals in this case.

At 1.94m (6ft 4in) the right footed Migliorini can not only play either side at centre-back but can also play right-back, although with his height his future would be in the centre.

Italian journalist and football commentator Alfredo Pedullà reports that Tottenham are willing to offer £714,467 (US$1.09m - AUS$1.43m - €1m) for his signature. I have to say I would be pleased to see an Italian defender at Tottenham given their attitude to defending but you rarely see them in the Premier League.
