Spurs have a 71% chance of not losing

As predicted Sunderland proved a tough game for Southampton, too tough as it turned out. The 2-1 win for Sunderland once again gives Spurs the chance to edge a little further away from them in the race for a Europa League place.
European football could be key in retaining players like Hugo Lloris and Jan Vertonghen. Both players are happy at Spurs and still feel they could achieve Champions League football with the club but a lack of European football altogether paints a different picture. As Spurs fans we don't want to be reliant on Arsenal doing us a favour.
In our last 20 home games we have won 12 (60%), drawn 3 (15%) and lost 5 (25%), scoring 40 goals in the process while conceding 25. Manchester City in their last 20 away games have a similar record, they have won 10 (50%), drawn 4 (20%) and lost 6 (30%), scoring 41 while conceding 27.
In the last 20 home games against teams in the top half of the table, we have won 9 (45%), drawn 5 (25%) and lost 6 (30%). Manchester City have won 7 (35%), drawn 6 (30%) and lost 7 (35%).
In the last 20 home games against teams above us in the table, we have won 4 (20%), drawn 8 (40%) and lost 8 (40%). Manchester City, against teams below them in the table, have won 12 (60%), drawn 4 (20%) and lost 4 (20%) of these matches.
In our last 6 home games we have lost to Aston Villa 0-1, beaten Leicester City 4-3, beaten Swansea 3-2, drawn with West Ham United 2-2, beaten Arsenal 2-1 and beaten 2-1, scored 13 goals and conceded 10.
Manchester City have lost to rivals Manchester United 4-2, lost to Crystal Palace 2-1, lost to Burnley 1-0, lost to Liverpool 2-1, beaten Stoke City 4-1 and drawn with Chelsea 1-1, scoring 9 and conceding 11.
The statistics tell us there is a 46% chance of Spurs winning, 25% chance of a draw and a 29% chance of Manchester City winning. Last week the statistics showed a 30% chance of a Spurs victory and a 28% chance of the draw we achieved. That meant there was a 58% chance of us not losing and this week the statistics say there is a 71% chance of us not losing.
Let's hope the statistics are right.
WBA 1-0 win at Old Trafford yesterday means a Spurs win against Manchester City would put us 4 points behind them with 3 games remaining. United have now lost three on the trot so a win would give us an outside chance of Champions League football still. It's a big game for us today and one we need to win.
