Selected by Togo Adebayor is now difficult to sell

Granted leave by Tottenham Hotspur on mental health ground, Emmanuel Adebayor has been named in the Togo squad.

Togo have appointed a new coach, 42 year-old Belgian Tom Saintfiet, who started his managerial career at 24. He has selected the Spurs forward for his countries  2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Liberia on June 14 in Lome, the capital and largest city of Togo with a population of just 837,437.

Local media have been speculation over his family problems and wondering whether he will be able to concentrate on the game but Saintfiet has selected the 31-year-old anyway. Togo, nicknamed the Sparrow Hawks, will play a friendly against Ghana on June 7th in Accra, capital city of Ghana with a 2.7 million population, before they begin their 2017 Africa Cup of Nations Group A campaign against Tunisia, Djibouti and Liberia.

No longer wanted at Tottenham and been told to find another club, his mental state may make it difficult to sell him. Aston Villa are interested but his wages are always going to be a problem, whether Tim Sherwood can convince him to take a drop to stay in the Premier League we'll have to wait and see. A loan however may be the best Daniel Levy can hope for and that may require Spurs paying part of his wages.
