Will Dier get his first game in the League Cup?

Mauricio Pochettino was very pleased with the performance of young Eric Dier at centre-back against Sunderland on Saturday.
We bought him as a centre-back for the future and he certainly didn't let the side down playing there, even though most of his performances have been at right back. The dual ability will provide Tottenham with a bit of versatility but it's as a central defender you expect his long term future to be.
Dier himself was pleased with his performance and the chance to play alongside Jan Vertonghen.

"I am very happy with Eric, and with his performance. I think he can play like a centre-back and like a full-back. He's a good guy with lots of potential."
"It was a very difficult game. To play against two strikers like Fletcher and Defoe, and then Connor Wickham, was a real challenge and his performance was very good."
Dier himself was pleased with his performance and the chance to play alongside Jan Vertonghen.
"I really enjoy playing and to get the chance to play next to Jan – I learn a lot from people like him in every game and every training session because he’s a great player. He’s obviously been here for a while and done really well, so it’s great to team up with him."
Dier won both his aerial duels and didn't lose a tackle, he touched the ball 34 times and had a pass accuracy of 88.9% from 27 passes. He made 4 long passes, 2 of which were successful, he made 2 defensive interceptions, 1 clearance and 1 block, stats which don't really tell a true story of a game.
In his first season with us Dier has already played a total of 1,304 minutes, 13 Premier League appearances totalling 943 minutes (2 goals), 4 UEFA Europa League games totalling 360 minutes and 11 minutes in 1 FA Cup tie, he has yet to feature in the League Cup. Will today be the day?
