Veljkovic, Hall, Ceballos

Championship side Charlton Athletic want to take young Tottenham centre-back Milos Veljkovic on loan for the remainder of the season.

Serbian Veljkovic, who is only 19, has returned from a loan spell at Middlesbrough where he didn't see much action and the local newspaper were referring to him as a defensive midfielder. While he can play there his primary position is at the heart of defence, that's where he captains the Tottenham Development Squad from.

Another centre-back, Grant Hall, is doing well at Blackpool having switched from Birmingham City. In 2 games the 23-year-old has tightened the leaky Blackpool defence to the extent that they haven't conceded a goal since his arrival.

There are high hopes for Veljkovic at Tottenham but for Hall time is running out and h may well eventually be sold. The Tottenham academy is not just about producing Tottenham players but also about producing football players who can go on to have a career at an appropriate level.

It has all gone quiet lately over a third Tottenham youngster, Cristian Ceballos. The 22-year-old sail in December that he needed to seek a move away in January as he wasn't getting any chances at Tottenham.

“I’m waiting for January because I’m trying to leave due to a lack of first-team football. I started well, but there are 26 of us in the squad and there are very few opportunities right now. There are some great players here and a lot of depth in the squad."

Ceballos went on the pre-season North American tour and caught the eye going forward in one game but gave away a goal in the next game when an ill judged pass was intercepted. He didn't look ready for first-team football and the fact he has only made the bench once seems to confirm that. His season has consisted of 4 Under 21 games so his career is stagnating.
