Jackson Martinez agreed new Porto contract in November

The Express have come up with more rubbish about Jackson Martinez claiming Tottenham want to sell Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado to fund a £40 million ($60.63m - €52.43m) bid, according to Jamie Anderson, who we all know writes for the bible of inaccurate news, The Metro.

Clearly he hasn't a clue why Paul Mitchell has been brought into Tottenham Hotspur as head of recruitment and it isn't to buy the obvious at inflated prices. He seems oblivious to the wage Adebayor demanded a wage increase from Roma to sign for them and has no intention of leaving Tottenham for any less than he is earning now, which no club will pay.

Soldado cost £26 million ($39.41m - €34.08m) and despite belief in some quarters that there are a lot of add-ons within his transfer fee there are not, Valencia refused add-ons, they needed guaranteed income for their banking problems. That makes him very difficult to sell which is why the club decided to keep him until the summer and review the situation then.

There is of course the small point that he isn't a £40 million player.  Tottenham are watching him and his team play but I'm afraid he is guessing about an amount as the Porto chairman himself reveals.,

Porto club chairman Pinto da Costa revealed to the clubs official website in November that the Colombian striker had agreed new terms to stay at the club with a buyout clause that comes into effect at the end of the season of £26.70 million ($40.48m - €35m).

"Two days ago, when he came back to Porto, we talked and he said, to me, to [director general] Antero Henriques, and to the coach [Julen Lopetegui], he wanted to stay in FC Porto, he wouldn't move and was willing to renew his contract.
"After that, we set up a strategy and decided how we were going to handle the renewal. In the agreement we signed, we decided on three more years of contract and determined that the release fee won't take effect for this current transfer window or for the January one.
"Whoever wants him will have to talk to FC Porto. Those that went around stating Jackson would go here and there need to accept what I've always said: Jackson is staying in FC Porto."
