Inter £9.41m offer hasn't a hope of landing Paulinho

I see we have more Paulinho to Inter Milan stories with suggestions that Tottenham are talking to the Italians about a move.

Inter 9.41m offer hasn't a hope of landing Paulinho

Paulinho started the season late having had a break after the World Cup in his home country. In his first game he made a mistake which led to a goal and his performances were poor to say the least. He looked as if he wasn't trying.

Stories circulated of sides monitoring his situation and loan moves mooted which don't really do Tottenham any good. The two countries after him were Brazil, where clubs don't have the finances to buy him and Italy where the same situation arises.

The reports are that Inter will offer £9.41 million ($14.20m - €12m) for a player who Tottenham bought from Corinthians for £17 million ($25.64m - €21.69m). Such a deal hasn't a hope of going through at that price and then there are his wages to take into account, £70,000 ($105,589.40 - €89,293.89) a week. Few sides are going to pay those and they will expect us to subsidise them.

As usual Tottenham do not want loan deals but player sales and other clubs don't want to buy they want to loan. A loan of course means he would then return to the wage bill in the summer and unless his replacement in a loan signing we would have too many players.

Paulinho is getting cameo roles now and he appears to be putting in more effort when he plays so maybe he has grasped that he has to work if he wants to play. Finances make it look as if he isn't going to be going anywhere si it's work or rot and we saw what happened to David Bentley when he was more intersted in the money than playing.
