Adebayor demands a wage increase

Emmanuel Adebayor has made it clear he is not going to leave Tottenham which explains why Mauricio Pochettino has been forced into statements that do not alienate the Togo captain but don't exactly shower him with praise either.

Adebayor demands a wage increase

Three Italian clubs have now been in touch with his representatives and or Tottenham to enquire about his availability, Roma were the latest club to speak to him. They received a bit of a shock when they not only found out his wages but the fact he is asking for a wage increase believe it or not.

"We all play football to get money. I’m from Africa and I have to give something back to my community. I will keep doing this until the end of my career."

Those were the words of Emmanuel Adebayor in 2011 and these were his words of anger towards the Spurs fans that caused the bust up with Harry Kane and the younger players when Adebayor was told he doesn't put in the effort, which statistics proved. He has been isolated since as rumour has it he refused to apologise.

"At least you know I am going to be having the majority of opposition fans booing me rather  than our own fans booing me. And I am not just talking about me, I am speaking on behalf of all the players.
"I think it might be better to play away from home at the moment because at least we know beforehand we are guaranteed to be booed because they want their home club to win."

He of course wasn't speaking on behalf of the players as subsequent events showed. He also made comments that he doesn't only just play when a new contract is due in an interview earlier this year, all he has done is play for Tim Sherwood for 5 months, 14 goals. Just look at his Premier League stats pre Tottenham contract and then when he has got one. he suggested anyone should Google him so I have.

While playing for a contract he scored 17 goals in 33 Premier League games, since getting a contract he has scored 18 goals in 54 Premier League games. I'd say that was pretty conclusive. In all games in the 2011/12 season he scored 18 goals in 35 games, since he has scored 24 goals in 61 games. To look at that in more detail by playing minutes, how many minutes it takes him to score a goal and what goal effect he has had assessed by minutes (goals + assists /minutes)

Pre-contract
2011/12 - 18 goals, 12 assists in 3,140 minutes - a goal every 174.44 mins, a goal action 104.67 mins

Post contract
2012/13 - 8 goals, 2 assists in 2,437 minutes - a goal every 304.63 mins, a goal action 243.70 mins
2013/14 - 14 goals, 5 assists in 2,152 minutes - a goal every 153.71 mins, a goal action 113.26 mins
2014/15 - 2 goals, 1 assist in 852 minutes - a goal every 426.00 mins, a goal action 284.00 mins
TOTALS - 24 goals, 8 assists in 5,441 minutes - a goal every 226.71 mins, a goal action 170.03 mins

Adebayor demands a wage increase

Those statistics don't lie. Next season he is playing for a contract of course, doesn't help this season much and with his demands to any new club to increase his wages we are stuck with his hopeless attitude.
