A win tonight for Ron Henry
It would be wholly appropriate if Tottenham Hotspur won in style tonight in the FA Cup Third Round Replay against Burnley at White Hart Lane.
Ron Henry played in the 'Impossible Double' winning team of 1960/1961 and played in every game that season, He then retained the FA Cup in 1962 against Burnley and helped Spurs become the first British side to win a major European trophy when we won the European Cup Winners Cup in 1963.
Of course other clubs have since followed in our footsteps but it was a Tottenham side with Ron Henry that showed British clubs what could be achieved with the right approach. It is a lesson the current Spurs side need to learn.
Today was the funeral of Ron Henry, a left-back for us during those triumphant times. It is rather appropriate we play Burnley on the same day and it would be fitting if the Spurs of today produced a display and a result to commemorate a former hero.
RIP Ron Henry.
