VIDEO Highlights - Forward runners make the difference for Spurs

A battle in the rain at Swansea, a hard fought victory where we rode our luck and nicked it late on.

Forward runners make the difference for Spurs

The Everton game saw us, for probably the first time this season, start to play Pochettino wants us to play. We let ourselves down against Crystal Palace but again against Swansea we saw the signs that the players are adapting.

They now know the manager is not going anywhere and they have to change if they want to stay at Spurs. They have to take on board what Pochettino wants but more than that they have to apply it on the field, something they have been very reluctant to do.

Naturally there are problems, defensively we still need work. It was great to see Kyle Walker back, a player too many fans have abused and complained about, yet half of those couldn't wait for him to be fit to play. It is astounding that after 9 months out he has returned to the Premier League so early since he first tentative Under 21 game.

We had problems down the left again as we are always going to have when Eriksen plays on the left but the pay off is what he can give going forward.

The massive difference between recent Spurs, midweek Spurs and today Spurs was that we at long last had runners, Recently we have been standing still or staying in zones so the player on the ball can only bounce it off a forward who has his back to goal or pass sideways. With runners you can play the ball forward with a player facing the goal, which gives the defenders problems and the offers the chance to create or shoot.

The side are therefore more dangerous and the supporters happier. We now have to produce more of that more regularly.
