VIDEOS: Tottenham watching talented young striker

He is a striker therefore he must be linked with Tottenham as they need one so rest assured he has been, we are not being left out.

Who is he, well this time it's highly-rated, isn't everyone, Argentine youngster Paulo Dybala who plies his trade for Palermo in Serie A. Wikipedia tell us he is similar to Sergio Aguero and Vincenzo Montella and the Palermo president dubbed him the new Aguero when he though he had signed him i April 2012, only to find he was dealing with someone who had no connection to the player.

Dybala wears number 9 for Palermo in pink, the initial dribble from his own half, passes, shots, clearly he has an ability we would be interested in. Watching the Palermo defence you can see why Lamela gained a reputation, utterly hopeless defending with no tackling, anyone could look good against this lot.

Southampton and Arsenal are said to be the other clubs interested which suggests Pochettino may have been interested in him when with the Saints. Websites are suggesting his contract with Palermo runs out in June so he can negotiate a free transfer in January for a move next summer, alternatively the Italian club can pick up a small fee for him.

However transfermarkt list him as being under contract until 2016 which would give Palermo time to evoke their third and preferred option according to club president Maurizio Zamparini, to convince the 20-year-old to sign a new contract and stay at Palermo.

“If I had €60m I’d buy another five Dybalas!

“He certainly won’t be leaving this year, and I hope he won’t leave next year either.”

This season he has scored 3 goals(v Sampdoria, AC Cesena and AC Milan) in 10 Serie A appearances with 2 assists (v SSC Napoli and AC Cesena). He has also had one cup game. Dybala joined Palermo on 20 July 2012 from Argentinian side Instituto de Córdoba for £10.47 million. He signed a 4-year contract which confirms that despite reports his is under contract until 2016.

His family also has Italian origins so he can also represent them and turned down the opportunity to play for Argentina U20's in July 2012, the day before he signed for Palermo.

There is no question he is talented, no question at all but talent is not enough as we are seeing with the current crop of players at White Hart Lane.
