VIDEO On loan Jordan Archer produces great save
Jordan Archer our former Scottish U21 goalkeeper, he is too old now, is earning rave reviews for his performances. He is on a season-long loan at Northampton Town in League Two.
This weekend Northampton travelled to Wycombe Wanderers and despite a terrific close range save from a corner where he pushes the ball onto the bar he can't prevent Wycombe equalising from another corner in the 98th minute. Northampton had been reduced to 10 men in the 86th minute when Robertson was sent-off. The highlights are below.
Archer went on the pre-season tour of North America and Canada this summer but went down with an illness on the first day of the tour and was hospitalised, otherwise we would have seen him get some game time. As it was Brad Friedel got to play plenty in his native America which was probably good for PR and marketing purposes.
In an hours time at 2.30 BST I'll be posting a video of 20-year-old striker Shaquile Coulthirst in action for Southend United in League Two where he is on a season-long loan deal. He is involved, has a header saved, a shot wide and a nice cross along the floor should have resulted in a goal.
