2 min read
Alex Pritchard has come on a bundle in the last year. First a season with Swindon Town where as his manager put it he had to grow up, he arrived a boy, left a man.
That loan spell saw him voted the second best player in League One, the winner coming from his current loan club Brentford, who won promotion and are now playing in the Championship.
Pritchard has forced his way into the England U21 squad and received his first cap as a substitute against Lithuania in August. His in in the squad for the crucial two-legged pay-off decider against Croatia in the European Championship having topped their group.
Brentford beat Reading 3-1 at the weekend, Pritchard scored the second slotting the ball through the keepers legs with his left foot and the third came from his corner. With the score at 0-0 in the first half he laid off a lovely cushion header and received a nice ball on the edge of the box but his shot ht the post and went for a goal kick. After the game he spoke to the Brentford official club website.
Match highlights below but before that a note that we will bring you video of 21-year old Jordan Archer in action producing a wonderful save once again for Northampton Town where he is on loan for the season. That will be released at 1.30 BST and then an hour later at 2.30 BST a video of 20-year-old Shaquile Couthirst playing for Southend United where he is on loan for the season.

“Andre produced a great assist. It just fell to me. I wanted to make sure I hit the target.
“I needed a goal and it was perfect to cap today off with a goal and assist. It is good to be at home and get the first goal, hopefully more to come. That was the first goal from a corner for us this season."
