Tottenham keeping tabs on Shaqiri situation at Bayern

Xherdan Shaqiri was a target for Liverpool during the summer but the price tag placed on his head was too high.
Tottenham, Liverpool, Manchester United and Bundesliga outfit Schalke 04, whom we beat in a pre-season friendly at White Hart Lane in August, are among the teams vying for his services it is reported. He has also been linked with Italian sides Fiorentina, Napoli and Juventus.
The 23-year-old looked a good player at the World Cup in Brazil this summer but has been unable to command a regular place in the Bayern Munich side after his transfer from Basel on the day the transfer window opened in 2012 (1st July) for £10.38 million.
Shaqiri suggested to German newspaper Bild that he'd like to leave in January but admits it's not his decision.
He is under contract until 2016 and is valued around £17.5 million but it is believed the German champions wanted £25 million during the summer transfer window. He has played a total of 28 minutes in the Champions League and 288 minutes in the League, spread over 6 games.
Shaqiri has only played 1 full game this season in the Bundesliga which was on the right wing, but he can and does also play on the left, a versatility that will appeal to Mauricio Pochettino as he looks to strengthen Tottenham's attacking options.
