Progress is being made - Eriksen
1 min read
Christian Eriksen put in a much improved performance against Southampton and Tottenham finally followed instructions and put into practice what they have been learning n the training field.
He had previously said he doesn't like to run around preferring the ball at his feet. He didn't mean he won't run around but that he'd rather be playing with the ball than trying to affect the game without it, just as any player would.
Today he was chasing back with the best of them and running to press and close down players all afternoon just as he had against Arsenal to close down Flamini for our goal.
The Danish international notched a goal from open play and had more of an influence on the game. That is the form we now need to see continue but we have an international break to endure, which at least gives us time to work on Kyle Naughton's ankle injury and Kyle Walker's groin.
He sees progress with the Pochettino 'philosophy' but acknowledged to BBC Radio 5 live that there are still improvements to be made.

"We have not had that many good home games so far, so we are pleased with three points. We had some chances especially in the first half and some smaller chances in the second half.
"Other games we haven't scored them but today we did. The players know each other but the system we have to connect it, and there is progress every time we play."
