Liverpool considering move for Adebayor

Brendan Rogers is thought to be monitoring the situation of Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor with a view to a move for him in January.

Liverpool considering move for Adebayor

Adebayor, captain of his country, Togo, and now a vice-captain at Spurs is an inconsistent performer. He seems to perform when he wants to but despite a bright start has only 1 goal to his name this season.

He doesn't attack the 6-yard box enough and when he does it's usually behind a defender and not in front. He has won 8 out of his 22 aerial duels (36%) which is an improvement for the 25% it was hovering at.

A decent 132 out of his 162 passes have been accurate (81.5%) and he has managed 14 shots in 6 games. A high percentage of those, 11, have come from inside the box and 8 of the 14 (57%) have been on target. He has created 7 chances and has 1 assist to his name when he chipped the ball to the far post for Nacer Chadli to score against QPR.

He has made 3 tackles in 6 games and 1 interception, he has been caught offside 6 times and dispossessed on 14 occasions.

It is being reported elsewhere that he is in the last year of his contract but that is not the case as Emmanuel Adebayor himself pointed out in May this tear when asked if he would still be at Tottenham next season (2014/15).

"I will be a Tottenham player. At the moment I have got two years left on my contract."

He would be a cheap option, especially next summer when he enters the last year of his contract, he's not worth another one for the money he is on. He is quality when he wants to be but just doesn't want to be often enough.

Perhaps we should bring back Tim Sherwood to man manage him!
