Dier looking forward to Croatia today

England U21's take on Croatia U21's tonight in the second leg of their European U21 Championship play-off tie.

Dier looking forward to Croatia today

Anyone who watched the first game will know Croatia were the better side and they'll be able to watch a layer we reportedly bid for last summer, Ante Rebic. He joined Fiorentina instead and was sent out on loan the the German second division to gain experience. He was the best player on the park in the first leg which England won 2-1, thanks to a Harry Kane header and a late penalty.

Eric Dier came on as a substitute at right-back in that game and is looking forward to the return leg in Croatia later today as he explains to the FA website.

“I think we’ve done everything the same as we did before in all of the other games which we’ve met up for. I think that’s good as we don’t want to add extra pressure.
“They’re two really big games but we’re treating everything the same as we did last time we prepared.
“It’s good playing all of these games now, but we do it to try and play in the tournament, which is the main thing. Any tournament is great for spirit, so going to the Under-21s Euros would be great for us.
“You learn a lot in tournament football so to have that experience would be good for us.”

The first game was a good game to watch and from a Spurs point of view, in addition to Kane and Dier, Tom Carroll plays in the middle and Alex Pritchard is usually on the bench.

If you get the chance I'd urge you to watch the game. Kick-off is 5pm and the game is on BT Sport (UK).
