Carroll hoping to force his way into the Swansea side

Tom Carroll was keen to join Swansea when he heard they were interested in him to move his career forward.
The 22-year-old went on the pre-season tour to USA and Canada but didn't really advance his claims in the way Ryan Mason or Cristian Ceballos did. It was hard to see how he would get much game time at Tottenham and really needed to be playing every week for his development.
A loan move seemed the only option and Swansea, known as a club who like to play passing possession football looked a good fit. Carroll has been talking to the Welsh clubs website.
Carroll has had to content himself with League Cup ties at he moment, he has been unable to force his way into the Premier League side but is pleased not to have the Tiny Ton tag at Swansea.
There it is again from a Spurs youngster, if I get a chance I must take it. Wouldn't it make such a difference if someone Paulinho had that sort of attitude. Carroll went on to talk about the training sessions at Swansea.

“I’ve been here a month and I’m enjoying my football. Everyone knows the philosophy of the club and it suits my style of play. It helps that I played in a similar style at Spurs.
“As soon as I knew Swansea were interested I really wanted to come here. It’s a great club that is now established in the Premier League."

“Every Premier League club has a strong squad now and you are competing for places with very good players.
“I’m getting a bit tired of the headlines reading ‘Tiny Tom’. I don’t think I’m that small these days. I don’t see any problem with my size, I don’t think it will hinder me at all. The big thing here is being comfortable on the ball – and if you’re not you’ll look out of place.
“I’ve just got to be patient because the club have made a good start in the Premier League. If I get an opportunity I have to take it.”

“The sessions are very sharp and the way the team plays on the pitch is replicated in training. I’ve had some of the toughest sessions of my career here. The last few days have certainly been up there because we had a double session one day and an 11 against 11 session the following day. That’s pretty tough!
“But you have to go through those sessions because it helps you on the weekend. The more you put into training, the better you are equipped for game-day.”
