Bony not worried by goal drought
1 min read
With clubs not willing to pay Swansea's asking price and or clubs not willing to meet his wage demands Wilfried Bony remains at Swansea despite saying he wants a move to a top six club.
Under such circumstances a player has to ensure he doesn't alienate fans and thus plenty of PR comments usually come out that are rather meaningless. It happens at every club up and down the land, including Tottenham.
Swansea have had a decent start to the season and temporarily sit in fifth on goals scored but while Bony hasn't had the greatest start himself the Daily Mirror quote him as suggesting he might be ready to sign a new contract.
So he could have left if he wanted to but there were no offers acceptable to his club in the discussions that took place so there was nobody to buy him, that is rather contradictory.
He has 2 years left on his existing deal and has hit just 1 goal in his 8 games so far this season.

“If I wanted to go, I would have done but there has never been anything other than speculation about the departure in Monaco, Liverpool or Tottenham.
"I’m fine in Swansea. It is even possible that I extend my contract.
"Admittedly, I have been less effective than last season, but I’m not worried. I play in a team that is ranked high, and there is less pressure on the attackers.
"People trust me, and for a striker, you know how it works. You might just need one or two goals to get going again.”
