Adebayor not the best with his feet, fighting talk

Uganda see Emmanuel Adebayor as a major threat as goalkeeper Denis Onyango points out.

“We all know Adebayor’s strengths. He is good at set-pieces. We need to stop the crosses from coming in and try to be as disciplined as possible.
“We will have to stay focused throughout the game. We will have to work for each other. We need to close down crosses into the box. We have worked out a plan for that."

The Ugandan captain Andy Mwesigwa, who plays his football for FC Ordabasy in Kazakhstan will be tasked with keeping Adebayor under control. This won't be the first quality striker he has had to keep quiet, Ghana’s Gyan Asamoah, Angola’s Manucho and Kenya’s Dennis Oliech and  Senegal’s Papiss Demba Cisse count among his opponents.

“I don’t know, but I always find myself looking forward to play against them. It is always good because you are facing this striker who is known worldwide and you want to come and prove that you are just as good.
“Adebayor is a good striker. Not the best with his feet but is very good in the air. But he is like any other player. We shall watch him like any other player and I hope to have a good game against him and Togo.”

Adebayor may just disagree with that assessment and it may fire him up if he reads it. The pitches are not always the greatest so let's just hope he comes back in one piece as love him or hate him he is needed. Certainly a time to cheer Uganda.
