Why is everyone making Rose omission a big thing?
1 min read
A player who was never going to be selected in the first place isn't selected and everyone wants to play the racism card and try to make a big issue of of it.
Danny Rose Rose is not in the squad that travelled to Serbia. Why would he be? He is currently the first choice left-back who has started all the Premier League games and has done nothing to be dropped for.
He has improved leaps and bounds and should be judged on what he is doing now, but often isn't. Right from the first game against West Ham he produced a good performance when we only had 10 men. He has continued to do so despite fans being desperate to berate him, as they did after the Liverpool game. Would Ben Davies have made a difference to the result? No.

Until Rose gives reason for him to be dropped or until Davies produces performances that improve what Rose can do then he should retain his place. The Welshman has to fight for a place, his chance will come but in the meantime he has to produce the goods in the UEFA Europa League, the League Cup and the training ground.
Our summer signing started both previous games in the competition against AEL Limassol and was always going to be playing in this game. Because of the versatility within our squad we don't need a reserve left-back travelling and thus Rose was never going to be selected for the squad in the first place.
