Lloris - Our target is 3 points today

French captain and number one Hugo Lloris has a tougher World Cup than most with all the media work that goes with being a captain. There is as much organising and talking to be done as playing football but for Lloris there has not been much time to rest.

Lloris - Our target is 3 points today

Tottenham have signed another World Cup goalkeeper, Michel Vorm who was Holland's number three, yet he has not played any pre-season. He has been allowed time to get over the exertions and build his fitness, no such luck for Lloris though.

With Michael Dawson uncertain to make the game the captains arm band could well be given to Lloris, but more likely it will go to Younes Kaboul for the West ham starter this afternoon.

After three defeats last season, it is important Spurs collect three points from the game, tough as that may be with a new manager and a new system but that is the pressure of the job, that is what Mauricio Pochettino has signed up for. It's certainly what Hugo Lloris is targeting.

“Pre-season doesn’t mean a lot although it’s always better not to lose games in the summer.
“But now the league is starting and every team begins on zero points so we need to have a good start. This kind of game is a good test as a first away match, and it’s difficult to look for anything but a victory.
“You need determination, ambition and passion to go to Upton Park and get three points.
“Hopefully we will enjoy a great game and make our fans happy.”

The fans will be well happy with a win Hugo, well happy.
