Hero Hoddle will no doubt be afforded a warm reception when he is seen by the Spurs faithful who remember him for the legend he was, a player 10 years ahead of his time, the most gifted player of his generation. It is frightening to think what he would be worth in today's game where tackling is all but banned, he'd have a field day.

Redknapp is much maligned by the mindless, completely forgetting he has taken us where no other manager has, the UEFA Champions League. He had tax problems which didn't fit in with the club image so a parting of the ways was always likely. Hardly surprising facing a potential jail sentence that his mind may not have been 100% of the Tottenham job at the time, apart from the distraction of England. Quite why fans criticise him for wanting to manager his country, the ultimate for any manager, is a mystery, it's what any English manager should aspire to.

Tom Carroll and Benoît Assou-Ekotto had loan spells at QPR last season, Steven Caulker has transferred there this summer from relegated Cardiff City, Andros Townsend and Harry Kane have both been linked with moves to QPR, while Spurs have talked with QPR striker Loïc Rémy. There is plenty to link the two sides, plenty of sub plots and stories.

Best give an honourable mention to Steve Slade here as he follows me on Twitter. Played for our youth sides, the senior side and moved to QPR managed at the time by former England midfielder, Ray 'Pass it Sideways' Wilklns.

How is the game going to go, well this is Tottenham so we expect three points, however it is going to be a tough game, QPR are no mugs. Rémy is a handful for any defence and he may well want to show us that we should be signing him so I'd be expecting him to be on top form.

Both sides are learning a new system, Tottenham a high energy, high pressing game and QPR a 3-5-2 system that Hoddle has been brought into coach.

Our 4-2-3-1 system still allows 5 in midfield to match their 5 and that tussle will decide the game. The first home game of the new season, Pochttino's first competitive home, game, Eric Dier's home competitive debut will ensure plenty of noise inside the stadium and a tremendous atmosphere that we hope sees Lamela and Eriksen unlock the QPR defence, perhaps for little Lennon to capitalise on.

There will be a mindless few who boo Redknapp but it's a day when there is so much to cheer you would have thought people would concentrate on being positive, so three points it is then.
