Bernard on a season long loan?

Tottenham are known to be seeking a left sided midfielder and a player we have previously tried to sign is now available on a season long loan, the Brazilian Bernard.

Bernard on a season long loan?

Brazil flopped rather badly at the World Cup but little Bernard was one of the few players who looked decent and tried to make things happen. We failed in out attempt to get him last summer and he went to Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine for an inflated fee.

After one season there are riots and civil unrest in the region he has made it perfectly clear he fears for his safety and doesn't want to stay. His club have now reluctantly agreed to the 21-year-olds request to be allowed to leave according to a club source quoted in the Daily Express..

"It is necessary to seek a compromise. It is obvious the Brazilian does not want to stay in Ukraine, where he will only complain and spoil the atmosphere in the team.
"But to let him go for free or for pennies won't work. The club will not allow it. In such a situation it is better to give the Brazilian a one year loan."

Will Tottenham go back in for him, does Mauricio Pochettino want him, we don't know. A loan would suit the club, no transfer fee and it would give us a season to have a look at him. But then if we bought a wide man in then Lamela, Holtby, Lennon or Townsend would have to go.
