As reported earlier the Federico Fazio fee has been paid the LDP (Liga de Futbol Profesional) in Madrid this morning. The paperwork has now been shown to Sevilla by a Tottenham representative so ending their obstructions to the deal. The paperwork can now be lodged with the Premier League to be ratified.

Michael Dawson has been in Hull today undergoing a medical ahead of his move to the Humberside club where he will join former teammates Tom Huddlestone and Jake Livermore. He gave everything for this club and the fans that abused him should be ashamed of themselves. In an era where players play for money he played for the club.

It won't be long before we hear fans whingeing nobody plays for the the badge anymore!

Lewis Holtby is one of a number of players that Pochettino is willing to let go for the right price but happy to keep hold of if they don't. Hamburg are in advanced talks with Holtby according to Hamburger Abendblatt (Hamburger Evening Gazette).

On this day in 2009 Peter Crouch scored his debut goal for us.
On this day in 2007 Gareth Bale made his debut.
On this day in 1995 Clive Wilson, a left-back, made his debut.
On this day in 1978 John Duncan scored his last Spurs goal. I used to enjoy watching him, always gave his all and not a bad player as 53 goals in 103 games testifies.
On this day in 1956 Danny Blanchflower scored his debut goal.

On this day we have played 4 Premier League games and lost the lot, good job we are not playing one today! We have only won 4 out of 18 games, not our favourite day clearly.

Frank Lampard has announced his international retirement, quite why players retire is a mystery, you should be available for your country whenever it needs you not whenever you choose it is convenient. That's not a dig before some suggest it s but at all players who want the ego boost they announce retirements for.

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud may be out for a lot longer than was first expected.

Manchester United have overpaid for another player, this time Angel de Maria, who will really sort their defensive problems out! They have paid an extortionate amount of money for a left-back their new manager doesn't want and have had to go and buy one he goes in Marcus Rojo. A shambles on the field, a shambles off it. Come on the MK Dons.

Everton look to be the ones finally signing Sanuel Eto'o who is said to want £65,000 a week. Whether they are paying that I wouldn't know buy=t they are offering a 2-year deal and arranging a medical.
