Lloris, Sherwood, Darlow, Pirlo

Tottenham have turned down offers for 27 year-old French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris. The French captain is a favourite at White Hart Lane after putting in a number of eye catching performances last season while all about him was falling to pieces.

He has indicated that he is settled in London and is not though to want to return to French football. Should a club like Barcelona come in for him then that may be a different kettle of fish as he still has ambitions to play Champions League football.

Apart from being an excellent shot stopper, his ability as a sweeper keeper has got Tottenham out of trouble on a number of occasions. With Pochettino sides also playing a high line defence his abilities will be needed next season as well. Spurs are in ongoing contract negotiations with his representatives to keep him at the club.

Former Tottenham Head Coach Tim Sherwood is favourite to take over at WBA and stay in the Premier League. He is said to be at the head of a six man list. I wish him all the best, just not against us.

Nottingham Forest keeper Karl Darlow remains on our radar as we look for a future successor to Brad Friedel. The American has now signed a one year extension making the purchase of a keeper not a top priority this window. With Jordan Archer coming through, the situation will be reassessed in January I would expect and then again next summer. It is more likely that, if still a target, we go in for the 23 year-old then.

Former Tottenham target Andrea Pirlo has revealed the desire to continue winning led him to reject the chance to move to White Hart Lane. The Italian playmaker managed that as Juventus won Serie A again and he signed a new 2 year contract to keep him at the Italian giants until beyond his 37th birthday,
