Clubs interested in Spurs home grown players

Premier league clubs are circling the Spurs squad as they look to see who they can pick off.

Clubs interested in Spurs home grown players

Hull City want Jake Livermore after his successful loan spell and Liverpool are reported to be interested as well, but Hull are also eyeing Michael Dawson and Danny Rose, who interests West Ham.

QPR are also interested in Dawson now they are back in the Premier League and also Andros Townsend who had a spell there on loan of course. The problem for QPR is that they have no money.

Michael Dawson won't be expensive but Andros Townsend would be and both are home grown so without replacing them with other home grown players we can't let them go.

Harry Redkapp being Harry Redkapp though wants Townsend on loan, which is of no benefit to Tottenham, especially with Everton and Newcastle also interested in him.

QPR do have an ace up their sleeve though, Frenchman Loïc Rémy. He has been on loan at Newcastle but has no intention of signing for them and the newly promoted Londoners could do with him off the wage bill. Harry Redknapp has said he does not expect Rémy to play for QPR again despite the being promoted.

There is an £8 million release clause in his contract but Rémy wants Champions League football. That matches the fee QPR were willing to pay for Dawson previously when Andre Villas-Boas decided to sell him.

Our club captain didn't want to leave and no doubt won't want to this summer unless he is pushed out the door. With the problems we have had in central defence that seems highly unlikely.

Crystal Palace are also interested in Dawson and Icelandic international Gylfi Sigurdsson. Tony Pulis was voted Manager of the Year for his remarkable achievement at the Londoners and is looking to shape the squad more to his taste than the squad he inherited.

They are not the only home grown players attracting clubs, West Ham are also interested in Aaron Lennon and Alex Pritchard is wanted by Wigan on loan next season.

Sides can only name 17 non home grown players aged over 21 in a Premier League squad so each side must name 8 home grown players. It is a balancing act which home grown players you can let go, which you must keep and whether you buy any. You can't simply sell a bunch of them as some fans would lie to see.

All home grown buys cost more than their oversees counterparts because of the rule. One player Spurs have decided they are not letting go is Danny Rose, instead they are going to offer him a new contract as at the moment he is still on very low wages.

Two recent articles explain the situation and why Spurs can't just sell Dawson, Rose, Naughton, Livermore, Lennon, Townsend and replace them. We have leeway but not a great deal hence our interest in available home grown goalkeepers, Joe Hart, Fraser Forster, David Marshall and Karl Darlow.

The hope is that Mauricio Pochettino can improve him in the manner he improved a lot of the Southampton players, if he can he'll save Spurs a deal of money in the transfer market.
