The £20 million man
We have a future superstar in our midst, one of those midfielders who stand out from the crowd, a midfielder people will talk about for years, a midfielder every top club will want, his name Nabil Bentaleb.
For a 19 year-old his performances have been amazing, he is already in the £20 million bracket. Tim Sherwood and Les Ferdinand absolutely rave about him, they feel he is an exceptional talent and I have to agree. Fortunately we have him tied to a contract until 2018 which I would expect to be extended next season.
Every now and then players come along and stand out, Wayne Rooney at Everton and now Ross Barkley from the same club. We have had Andros Townsend but this boy Bentaleb has everything to put Townsend in the shade.
Seemingly able to play anywhere in midfield with aplomb he ran the show against Newcastle last night having relinquished his holding midfield role to Etienne Capoue.

Since he came into the side as a 50th minute substitute in the away victory against Southampton he has stood out. Gary Neville in that commentary seeing him for the first time was mightily impressed, he felt he was a talent and looked like a quality midfielder who had been in the Premier League for years.
Like a duck to water he has taken to it immediately, whether defensively freeing Paulinho and Dembele or further forward himself where he created for others last night. Those who can only see short simple sideways passes and missing it with this boy.
David Ginola, who spent 3 season on our coaching staff and has seen a of of Bentaleb, feels he is a real talent who could even make the French World Cup squad if he chose them, although reports suggest he has chosen Algeria.
"I have watched him many times and he is a young talent. He will be even better in two or three years' time. He has lots of progress in front of him. He is going to be a tremendous player.
"What he is capable of doing right now is very interesting. I am pretty sure in a year or two he will be very good for the club.
"I think Didier Deschamps already knows about Nabil and what he is capable of doing. Will it be enough for him to be in the World Cup squad? I don't know. He would have to end the season with Spurs quite well, scoring some goals and being as good as he was in the past few games, but why not? He will get a chance anyway. If it's not in the World Cup, it could be Euro 2016 in France."
Tim Sherwood says he trains like every day is the last day in the world and that tells supporters who complain X has been given a chance or Y hasn't been given a chance why. If you want to get into the side you have to produce and train in a fashion that shows the manager you deserve to be picked.
No player is owed a living, no player is owed a starting berth, you have to earn it and then take your chance when it's handed to you, whatever competition that is in. Giovanni Dos Santos couldn't grasp that basic fact, Adel Taraabt couldn't grasp it, Etienne Capoue has had to figure it out.
Players like Sigurdsson have now got to raise their game because they are rightly behind Bentaleb in the pecking order. Having a kid come through can only be good for the club as a whole if it makes other players try harder and improve themselves.
For now Bentaleb is here and he's here to stay.
