Spurs old training ground to close

Spurs Lodge, the old training ground in Epping Forest is to close at the end of February. The site became too small and was used as the home of the Tottenham Hotspur Academy. When Spurs left a year and a half ago they continued to undertake community activities there.

Spurs Lodge set to close at the end of February

A Tottenham Hotspur spokesman has now conformed though that the site is to shut and the end of February, although Spurs will continue community work in the local area.

"Tottenham Hotspur has kept an active presence at Spurs Lodge over the past two years since we moved to our new training centre in Enfield.

“During that period, the club has continued to deliver community programming both at the Lodge and across Epping Forest and will continue to do so.

"The club's programme at the Lodge will come to a close at the end of February and we are now currently in discussions with partners about the long term plans for the Spurs Lodge site.

“These will be brought forward in due course once the appropriate engagement has taken place with key stakeholders including the local authority."
