Lewis Holtby joins Fulham

Tottenham could end up making a healthy profit on Lewis Holtby for his short stay at the club. The German Under 21 captain who is hoping to go to the World Cup with the senior side has joined Fulham on loan for the remainder of the season, with a view to a permanent deal.

Holtby said goodbye to the Spurs fans who took him to their hearts with the desire and commitment he showed.

"Big big thank you to all Spurs Fans for your support!!!

"It’s a new chapter and a new experience for me here in Fulham. It’s important for me to play and hopefully to trying to keep this club here in the Premier League."

Fulham manager Rene Meulensteen completed the deal for the 23-year-old attacking midfielder who has been unable to break into Tim Sherwood's team at Tottenham. Many fans will be disappointed to see him go and I am in that number.

Lewis has joined Fulham on loan with an £8million transfer in the summer on the cards. Spurs only paid £1.5 million for him from Shalke with his contract running down and with that not being the case now Fulham will have to pay his market value.

Good luck to him, shame he's going.
