Defoe to shoot the Sheriff

Tomorrow sees our next game in the Europa League and a win will virtually guarantee our place in the next round which would allow AVB the opportunity to play a player like Harry Kane in some of the remaining group games.

Kyle Walker, Andros Townsend and Paulinho have been rested for the trip to Moldova whilst Etienne Capoue, Younis Kaboul, who resume training next week and Danny Rose are still injured.

"We have a big opportunity to go to nine points and the chance to qualify at such an early stage, "Andre Villas-Boas said. "That motivation is key for us.

"Sheriff are influenced by the six Brazilians they have, very creative players particularly in midfield and in the channels. They are a counter-attacking team, breaking very quickly, so we will have to be aware of that.

"The most important thing for us will be our own principles and our style of play. If we continue to do that we can do something here. We strive to win every game, that's our ambition as a team – a team that wants to move forward."

I'd expect to see Erik Lamela have another game and Aaron Lennon to get some game time. Chadli needs a run out and Defoe has been banging them in in Europe. Emmanuel Adebayor has travelled and it seems a good opportunity to give Fryers another game along with Chiriches and Naughton.

We'll have to wait and see what surprises AVB springs this time with the Hull City game coming up on Sunday.

I'm expecting another win and wouldn't be surprised to see Defoe bag another.
