AVB on Chiriches, Lennon, Chadli & Lamela

News from the injury front ahead of tonights Europa League tie against Tromso at The Lane, which you can see on ITV4, is that Etienne Capoue is obviously still out with his ankle injury, Lennon will be out maybe for another couple of weeks and we are still waiting on the paperwork for Vlad Chiriches.

Andre Villas-Boas on Vlad Chiriches: “We are expecting [the paperwork] anytime soon, it could have even arrived today [yesterday], but it hasn’t and he’s not going to be involved.

“I think for Bulgaria and Romania the process takes a bit longer. Sometimes it happens quicker.

“At the moment we are waiting for the post to arrive for the player to be registered. As awkward as it may look and sound, that is the reality. Obviously the player is frustrated with the situation but we can’t do anything about it.”

Andre Villas-Boas on Nacer Chadli: “Chadli was not involved against Norwich and won’t be involved against Tromso because he hasn’t recovered from a slight strain that he has.”

Andre Villas-Boas on Erik Lamela: “It was finally good for us to have him training for three days with the team. At the moment he’s selected for the game and I think his quality will threaten to be in the team very soon."

Andre Villas-Boas on Aaron Lennon: “With Lennon we’re still making steady progress on his foot injury.

“Unfortunately for us it’s taking more time than we expected. It’s not a stress fracture, it’s a stress response on the bone of his foot.

“It’s very very difficult because it’s a situation in which we have to allow the pain to disappear completely. He still feels the pain, so maybe one more week or two more weeks, I don’t know.”
