Soldado - Valencia board to discuss Spurs offer tomorrow

Tottenham have made their push for Soldado to lead the line next season. Franco Baldini was in Valencia today meeting his agent and Valencia to put our offer to them.

The local press had pictures of Baldini and Toldra, Soldado's agent, arriving for their meeting at the Melia Valencia Palacio de Congresos, earlier today.

They confirm the two have met and spoken, that Soldado wants to leave and that Baldini is now meeting Valencia president Amadeo Salvo. Local reporters are saying an unofficial bid has been accepted and now they are in formal negotiations. If the deal can be officially agreed it will break our transfer record, a local reporter suggesting the figure offered is £22.33 million (€26m) plus add-ons.

The local paper initially reported it as being close to the buy out clause figure of £25.76 million (€30m).

Spurs went in for the player last summer and Soldado indicated then that he was interested but it didn't happen.

There can be no doubt Spurs are trying to get their man but Liverpool are also very interested. Nothing has been concluded, negotiations continued and now it's up to Valencia.

The Valencia board are believed to be meeting at noon tomorrow to discuss the bid.
