Watch our Bassong shine

We watched Bassong have a fairly comfortable game in last weeks friendly. He looked pretty calm on the ball and didn't really set the world alight, but he played in such a way that meant he didn't need to do anything special.

Harry did his usual mingling when we played Newcastle last season and Seb got a glowing reference from Harry's former player Iain Dowie.

Seb's expected to start in Sunday's game against Liverpool alongside King. I've got a really good feeling about this young lad and hopefully he'll form a strong partnership with King.

  1. Wait till Liverpool- partnership with King? Unless his knee improves and Woodgate does then should be looking at Dawson and Bassong partnership with other 2as cover. Hope this is season boys stand up and gain Europa through League.
  2. Very pleased when we signed him. Wasnt really impressed with his first touch last week but i dont think you can read too much into a pre season friendly debut. He has pace to burn, read the game pretty well and should prove to be a quality signing. Dare i say a potential successor to Ledley. COYS BIOYC
  3. I took one major positive from watching Bassong play alongside King against Olympiakos. He looked comfortable in the squad, like he had been playing in our defense for years. A few bad touches here and there which were expected, luckily nothing worse. I am still going to keep my expectations low for him over the beginning of the season because it was only one game... Liverpool will be the real test.
