A tribute to Luka

For those of you that watched the game against Liverpool on Sunday, you would have seen Luka Modric grace the White Hart Lane pitch.

It's been a while since I've had the courage to say that about any Spurs player. His first touch, vision, passing ability and versatility make his team mates and fans tick.

I've got a feeling that we'll be hearing a lot about our little Croatian this season. He's a joy to watch and a truly magnificent player.

Now I'm sure there are Spurs fans out there that have never seen Modric live. I just hope they don't come on here with their West Ham tactics, trying to belittle our master player. Although anyone is welcome to make comments on here, you've got to either be blind, or a fool to not recognize his brilliance. Didn't Wenger say that he wasn't strong enough for the Premier League?

Well, that's my two-cents worth for the day.

  2. Modric is currently my favorite player. Any team would be lucky to have him. He has great vision for such a young player and his touch is second to none. Did I mention that it's great to be a Spurs supporter?

  3. I recon if any big club wanted him i think modric would stop with spurs as he looks so happy in the shirt!!New he would be good when i signed!!i think we should play pav instead of keane upfront
  4. modric pulling the strings and the man palacios doing what he does best breaking the play up is a winning formula.
  5. I'm a big admirer of Luka - just look at his vision and genuine touch of the ball on his perfect cross serving Keano's clear header in the first half against Liverpool - I say no more............
  6. Modric is a truly great player - my fear is that he'll be in a United shirt this time next year if we don't hit the top 5 this year.

Wenger was just trying to be clever with his statement, dont forget he also said Arshavin did not have the right qualities and that he was too small for premier league. he said this while we were in the process of trying to buy him. If we never signed Modric I am sure Wenger would have signed him.

  9. went to game saturday thought game was brilliant modric is just superb, the cross for keane's crap header was just sublime, after having a few pints after the game i saw a young lad run over to a big 4x4 and it was modders!! the boy had his shirt signed and programme i just had to get in the action so i went running over and asked if he would sign my shirt which he duly did, after he finished signing it i said to him you only had to put god! lol the boy is magic and very grounded the smile you see on the pitch is the same one he had in his car, thanks mr modric you already are a spurs legend in my eyes.

    I would have said the same about Keano last summer.....I love Luca, he is a special player, the type of which do not grow on trees and do not come around often. The better his performances get in a Spurs shirt, the greater my fear of us losing him to the likes of a Barcelona, Real, Milan, Man Utd....That said I hope he graces the White Hart Lane pitch for years to come, a genius that will become better...
  11. luka has that special quality,and its only just begun.and i'm not knocking harry but we have 4 top strikers and on form the 2 starters should have been defoe and pav.if you dont put some faith in pav you will never know.and might smash his confidence.no to keane as captain he couldnt get in liverpools team so we give him a way out.now hes captain i dont think so,hes lucky he didnt rot in liverpool be grateful keane,you dont deserve the arm band.

  13. He is a rare talen to behold. Harry was on Fivelive last night and the presenters asked him about Luka Modric. Harry couldn't speak highly enough about him.

  14. Although Luka is "The Special One" currently at Spurs, if we want to keep him and keep him happy , it is important that we add players of quality to the team. If Huntelaar had come, it would of shown our ambition and probably let him know we mean business, i think the likes of Pav etc are key to keeping our best players happy.
    Please arry, no more unknow signing, if you want to add, then add quality and lets keep everyone happy at the Lane, including the Fans . COYS
  15. I love Luka, I just think he is being wasted on the left. I would love to see him playing just off the main striker with Crouch or Pav lone striker against the big boys away from home. Problem is where would that leave Defoe?
  16. Great player, but we always get great players that are the heartbeat of our team, they rise, then they are poached which pushes us back. This is a continuous cycle. We need to crack the top 4 to stop the rot, OR we pay big cash like Man city.
  17. we have a very good squad this year :) all the keane bashers need to give him a break hes back yes he made a mistake , show me a man that hasnt?
    he is class will get us goals this year and gives us the option of going 3 upfront , selling him would be dumb and hurt our chances .

    here is a spurs supporter from germany. my comment on luca: fantastic player, he have the technical skills, the special touch!

    i love to see him playing. sometimes i think, that players like keane should involve modric more and should not be too selfisch for catching a goal statistic.

  19. I don't want to be a spoil-sport or whatever, and I really do think that Luka is a magnificent player, but I think that we should not get carried away because of one match. Sure, we played well, sure we sort of bashed Liverpool, but I'd rather we not speak too soon. The problem with Spurs has always been complacency and I don't want us to think that we are top four material and setting unrealistic goals for ourselves and in the end becoming the laughing stock of the league. I mean, King and Crouch are in over our heads to say that we can finish in top four, based on ONE good performance, and King even said we can win the league!!! It is this sort of complacency that is our Achilles' heel.
  20. some gooners i know would rather have modric than arshavin - shame we didn't get both but modric edges it for me and has more miles left in him.
    as good as palacios was, the little flicks and giving the ball away in the last 5 minutes is a worry.....

    i'm hoping the bashing of liverpool will give us the edge on other clubs in the hunt for other players seeking transfers.

  21. Fabulous, fabulous footballer. Reminds me of Ardiles, only quicker. Fast, 2-footed, low centre of gravity, great vision, courageous - and never gives up. A £30m player if Mr Levy wishes!

THE LITTLE GUY MUST PLAY CENTRE MIDFIELD NO OTHER POSITION HE CAN CONTROL IT WITH ALL THE GRACE OF ZIDAN AND BOSS HUDDLESTONE AND PALACOIS INTO A HUGE PARTNERSHIP , AN OUT AND OUT LEFT WINGER BADLY REQUIRED OR GIVE BALE A GOOD RUN OF ABOUT 6/9 MATCHES TO FIND HIS FEET AND LET BALE TAKE ALL LEFT SIDED FREE KICKS TO GIVE HIM CONFIDENCE AND LET HIM SEE THE HIGH ESTEEM HE IS THOUGHT OF , NOUGHTON MUST PLAY HE IS QUALITY AND OLD ENOUGH .
