In the two matches I've been to at the Lane this season Keane and Crouch have looked lost and pointless whilst Pav and Defoe have looked great.

It's not really a hard choice right now.

Its definitely a good problem to have. However the ideal situation is to have 2 established first choice partnership and have an experienced player to come off the bench who knows that that is his role. Exactly like United with Berba Rooney and Owen off the bench

You need four strikers in the squad to cover all possibilities. It's a great problem to have. If we are going to get anywhere we need cover in every position. They will all get their chances this year and I hope they take them. They are clearly all very talented. Crouch was the last player to score a hat-trick against Arsenal, I hope he does it again. ;-)

PS Please sign another 'proper' midfielder...Palacios has changed things at Spurs. We finally have someone who can boss a game. Wonderful signing, shame it took so long. COYS.

Don't sell any of them, there is no need. Keane was unlucky not to score against the Pool and looked a constant threat. Rafa would have him back now I bet.

It certainly is a good problem to have but I feel that all of them are confidence players. Unless they are playing week in week out we wont see the best of them.

I don't think we've see the best of Pav yet but Harry must not rate him or cant seem to get the best out of him(language barrier maybe?).

As for pointy shouty bloke, I thought it might happen!! If he got a decent shot on goal and didn't put it away, I would call all names of shite!! If he hadn't gone I probably would have put it down to good save!!!

Give Crouchie and Defoe a run and lets see whats happen!!

Defoe and Crouch played well together in the past and can do so again, especially in a better team with the likes of Modric creating the chances. Robbie has not been the same since he returned to the Lane, but in time we're hopeful he'll get back to his best. Pava is the weakest link, and if Levy wasn't so religiously frugal to the point of forgetting we have matches to win (rather than just deals to secure) we would have had Arshavin instead. Nonetheless, we're a much better settled squad than last term and if Sunday's anything to go by, we've come a long long way since the darkened judgements of Comolli.

Pav and Defoe for me are the best 2 strikers... you play a diamond shape and play keane as an attacking midfielder. Keane does make a difference in the team and you could see that after he was taken off yesterday...

Pav and Keane are able to spell off Modric so I don't really see it as such a big deal. At any rate, if any striker gets a knock we'll have just the necessary cover. A nice problem to have. All of the lads should be more than willing to give it their all in the Carling Cup and the FA Cup. I'm more concerned about what is going to be done with Jenas and Chimbonda who I view as surplus to requirement. COYS - let's get it done against Hull - Keane and Pav to start.

I would like to see Crouch and Defoe start a game and they will. Harry will mix things up no doubt. The save from Keane's header was fantastic! The keeper had no right to save it. If he plays like that in other games he will score goals. Don't forget Pav had played nearly a full season before he arrived at Spurs and did manage to score some goals. If anything he looked a little tired towards the end of last season but showed he has quality. Good old 'Arry' thinks we have four terrific strikers and we do.

It's a difficult one with the centre backs. Not sure how long Woodgate is out for and the King can only play one game a week (we hope). I wonder if Harry is thinking about bringing in another one for cover? Would Distin join us? Hopefully Dawson is back soon and Corluka can play centre back though he looked very controlled against Liverpool as right-back.

Keane didn't have a bad game!!! He was unlucky not to score two goals. Give the guy a break. Crouch had so little time on the field. What did you want an instant goal? Have some patience.

For me it always going to be about our away form and I really dont think we have enough steel in the middle but must admit Wilson looking the really deal.

I agree about not having enough steel in the middle. That is why we tried to buy Barry. Harry surely knows that Hud and JJ is not strong enough. Also we tried to buy Robben but he wants champions league football. Those two would have made the squad just that bit stronger. It's frustrating as how are you meant to challenge? I hope Harry gets another strong midfielder who can run a game like Palacios. My worry is if Palacios and Modric get injured our midfield would look very average again.

Defoe is the best and should play all the time.. Got a soft spot for Chenko too and think he should be starting partner

You need to start the season with a strong squad, anyone who is unhappy can leave in Jan and we will get a replacement in. I'm sure all 4 strikers will get a fair chance, so it's up to them, please don't have sympathy for whoever gets left out though as they earn more warming the bench in 90 minutes than I do in an office all year!!!

Surely Keane being unlucky means he was unlucky that the keeper didn't get out of the way of all the shots Keane was shooting down his throat.

I went to the Tottenham v Liverpool game and Robbie Keane was Outstanding!!! All Honest he should have scored the 1st goal the next effort unlucky 3rd well took a swing.. Robbie Keanes willingness and work rate of linking with the midfield and his intelligent runs were a huge difference.....Defoe!! Alot of energy running into, channels and trying to hold up the ball, but as an attacking threat sorry, Martin Jol was correct best place on the bench! Even though Martin Jol Commented that Defoe had improved after scoring against Holland with his Left foot, but Defoe is inconsistent...Crouch! What a waste of money! White Men Can't Jump! Interesting with kranjcar as would be perfect to fight with Modric and cover him aswell. Doubt they will want to deal with us again after moaning about our dealings over Crouch, but Harry could use certain players for the good of both clubs here. Portsmouth need players, but have no money, perhaps the likes of Bale (if we got another LB in to fight with BAE), Rose and Gio being sent down there on loan for the season would be good for all concerned. They get quality players for nothing and we get free development of potential stars whilst at the same time perhaps reducing the money needed to buy Krancjar. Chimbo is another that could be included in any deal if really necessary.

Again the silly mutterings of Keane not being good enough! Keane is essential to Spurs, the save on Keane's header is nothing short of brilliant! Most keepers would have dived high to keep a header out & keane was right to direct the ball downwards. As i said the save was nothing short of brilliant. If you have played football before, you would know what i'm talking about. As soon as he left the pitch, Spurs were lifeless in front. Even Harry's post match interview had said that Keane worked his socks off & was unlucky to score. To the Keano detractors, all i can say is this, lose Keane again & we'll lose the lifeline of this team! Or you probably prefer watching Spurs fight relegation battles i guess. grow Up!!!

i dunno why we signed crouch??? keane has showed what he really thinks of the club and it sickens me this guy is given the cap't arm band. i'll be gutted to see defoe leave due to keane getting favourtism from rednapp. there are four players who we don't need..keane, crouch, jenas and huddlestone..JJ and hudd will never cut it

Keane was the one of the best players for us on Sun. Defoe in comparison might as well have been in the stands for all the good he did.

Keano first choice with either Crouch or Defoe to partner depending on the opposition.

As for all the people screaming for Pav to get his chance, did you not watch him play last season? Anytime he came up against anyone better than Burnley he was shite. Pav should be a starter in the Carling Cup and a bench warmer (at best) for all other games.

We all have our views on who is best in their positions, but your all missing the important part of the game............we won on our opening game of the season for the first time in 9 years and against the supposed champions to be this year - Liverpool!!

Why be so negative on what every pundit in the UK have stated - We were better on the day than Liverpool. Let's just back the team and players and maybe we can finish in a high league position and maybe even bring home some silverware!!!

It has to be Pav and Defoe as starters. Flog keane or at the very least take the armband off him,as he doesn't deserve it. Redknapp must put his personal issues to one side and Pav has to start playing otherwise it'll be the one we let go in future seasons. By far our best striker, he has the lot plus he is so unselfish.

I would like to see Pav and Crouchie up front, although I am not saying that is our best two forwards, I think that it could be interesting. I feel we have a great squad and I think we should not make any more changes to it this year. I was at the game and I thought Hud and wilson won it for us. I have a real gut feeling that we will challenge for the title this year, I think no-body stands out that much better than us. Chelski, old squad, Manure, transitional season, liverpool, take out Gerrard and torres and they look no better than Aston Villa, Arse wipes, very lightweight, Man Shity, maybe next season, hughes will be sacked by christmas.

I don't know if selling Keane would be the answer. The reason we look good up front is because we finally have options. Keane did a good job against Liverpool, albeit the missed shots on goal. Crouch will have to take the back seat for now until his fitness level is on par with the rest. Pav is the one who I think will have a problem with all of this... after his preseason form, he should have been given the starting role; since that didn't happen, he should have at least been the one to come on for Keane. Instead, we used him to kill minutes at the end. Was sad for the boy.

yeah,blah,blah,blah,...the truth is we'we had excellent defence,ok strikeforce but nonexistent midfield, except perhaps Pallacios,Modric was ok but not outstanding-we want to make it this year,dont we?

I love how Crouch has so far played 22 minutes of football for us and already Spurs, ahem, 'fans' here are calling for him to be sold. And you wonder why other fans call us fickle, and why some players confidence go to pieces when playing for us? Idiots.

Shall we just wait and see how the next five or six games goes first rather than talking about selling players we have just got or who until a year ago most of us wouldn't have sold for all the tea in china. I think Arry is gonna play two different styles. We have always lacked the grit when it comes to playing some of these rough and tumble teams. He now has alot of choices. He just needs to decide who to use for which job. He probably elaready knows. He ain't no mug.

I think as fans, we have to accept a revolving door policy each season for the striker who's bottom of the pecking order. So long as we can hold on to our best performers, such a policy would allow us to improve year on year without too much disruption to the squad.

Regarding now, Ithink this is exactly the right situation for our manager to have on his hands - a group of 4 all pushing for a start each week. Otherwise there's insuffiecient cover for injuries and it's also a great motivator for them to play well when they get the chance.

I can't beleive how people think sometimes, although everyone is entitled to their opinion. We all know defoe is a great striker yet he had a quit game on sunday and some people are talking about him being useless. keane had a great game in fact man of the match for me. Surely you couldn't question his loyalty. We also know that crouch is a terrific striker but he is being judged for 22 minutes. And in my opinion Pav is also a great striker that needs to play to prove it. All in all we have 4 great strikers and all we keep doing is putting them down. That will really help their confidence won't it?

Just a positive comment on Keane!

Everyone here knows full well that no matter how many years playing for a club you have grown to love and being one of the most consistent performers each year, if your boyhood club came knocking at your door and you were given the opportunity to play in the champions league you would go.

At Keane's age he had to leave as he might get the chance to play for a club he supported growing up!

Because he moved it doesn't take away how he feels about Spurs, in fact it proves how much he cares to come back to our club after 6 months and the way he played against Liverpool was a breath of fresh air. It's good to see someone actually playing for a team rather than their pay cheque!

You guys should get behind him more!!!

If we can afford Crouch, Spurs must have lots of money to spare. Roman & Defoe are the best pair by far.
Keane should also, pop into Specsavers.
Bentley should also be played, he is better at passing and dead balls than Lennon. Okay, Lennon goes past players but he doesn't look up until it is to late.
