Redknapp: "I like Brown"

So then, Harry likes Celtic's combative midfielder, Scott Brown.

Has anyone seen this guy in action? I've been told that he's a Sgt. Wilson type player; the type that wears his heart on his sleeve and takes no prisoners.

I thought Tom Huddlestone had a great game and with a few more games under his belt, could build a great understanding with Wilson Palacios.

If Jenas is to be sold to Villa and by the looks of things, they need him, then bringing in a midfielder in the Palacios mold wouldn't be a bad bit of business.

Brown's definitely on Harry's radar. Could be one to watch?

On another note, wasn't it a shock to see both Keano and Defoe starting the match yesterday?

  4. As a Celtic fan I would say your description of Brown is pretty inaccurate. He is more of a box to box midfielder like Lampard or Gerrard, but by no means at their level yet. He was named in this years list of young footballers to look out for in 2009 by FIFA. For the price fee that is being mentioned it would be hard for Celtic to turn down especially with the reduced TV money and it would release extra funds for Tony Mowbary to bring in a few more of his own players.

    Having said that I would much rather keep him as he is one of the best players we have had in a while.
  5. as a celtic fan, he is completely over-rated (like jenas actually) and i would gladly take the money for him now as we already have better players in his place.
  6. Thanks for the input. I'd rather us not sign anyone if I were to be completely honest. Our squad at the moment is very strong and the players, given time, will gel together.
  7. I wasn't at all shocked to see Keane and Defoe start; at home they'll be our first choice partnership I think. We desperately need Keane to link the play; as soon as he left the field yesterday Liverpool finally started exerting their influence. Crouch will be better for the away games, but we need Keane at home.
