Rafa storms out of Liverpool

I was just about to leave the office when a few colleagues of mine (that are Liverpool fans) said that they've heard that Rafa Benitez stormed out of the Melwood this morning and that Sammy Lee took over in training.

Apparantely, bookies, Paddy Power, have stopped all bets on Rafa being the first manager to get the sack this season.

Sounds interesting. If anyone has any other news to add, please do tell. In my opinion, it sounds like tosh.

  1. Yeah, Ive heard the same thing. Talksport said something about it and even had Paddy Power on and he said that all bets have been stopped as it looks like Benitez may have left the Pool.

  8. My son sent me a text 5 minutes ago to say Rafa had just arrived on the bus from Melwood with the squad.
  9. my aunt is one of the cleaners at Melwood, and she's confirmed that Rafa stormed out this morning

  17. Is any one really suprised that Rafa has gone/not gone? It seems the only people who still want him at LFC are the fans. He has spunked untold amounts of money on dross over the last 5 years, don't get me wrong he has signed some great players but for every good player, he signs 3 poor/avergae players. This summer he has spent 37 mill(?) yet he is still moaning that he has not been given any funds. He has the arse with the yanks for selling Alonso when the reality is that he wanted to go and the owners were left with no choice but to get the biggest fee they could - shades of Carrick? It happens to all clubs even United i.e. Ronaldo,you don't see Fergie throwing his toys around. The board are frustrated by Rafa and Rafa is frustrated by them - there is only one result in that situation, bye, bye Rafa (hello Mourinho if the rumours are to be belived)

  19. Rafa spent 37 mil??? Only someone from elementary 1 who has only learned adding up but not subtraction would say this. God.

    Compare the net amount and you will see Rafa spent less every year but keep up, at least, with the likes of MU and Cheski. No other has done this.

    Rafa has recouped 40 million back from selling players - which ultimately means that we have made profit for the US owners. We never spent the money we got back for Keane so I reckon there's 20million knocking about - unfortunately, the owners don't see it like that. Silly fans who think that Rafa has spent loads really do need to look at the maths - we always have to sell our players before we buy - bar the odd exception (who doesn't).

  22. The strange thing about these, 'the bookies have stopped taking bets' stories is that when you actually go into a bookies they still take your money. Strange eh? So in the end Talksport get a rush of free publicity, Paddy power takes a load of money and within 12 hours Benitez denies any intent to leave. What next Terry 'the bookies friend' Venables will e installed as 1-4 favourite, they've stopped taking bets on him dontcha know...
