It looks as though Stoke are the "unnamed Premier League club" that have tabled an offer for Newcastle's Damien Duff.

That's the best bit of news I've heard all week! As far as I'm concerned, Stoke are welcome to him. He's lost his pace, heart and let's face it, we don't want another injury-prone player at the Lane.

Nadir Belhadj has also hinted that he'll be interested in moving to us. Pompey's attacking full-back/winger would like to work with Harry again.

Belhadj is an interesting player. He must be the only full-back I've ever seen that simply doesn't know how to defend. If he could do a job for us as left winger, then I think he'd be a good signing, although I couldn't see him getting into the team to often.

Harry does like to have large squads and it's this reason that I'm quite confident that we'll see another signing before the window closes.

    Anyway, we don't even need a left winger - Modders will carry on there. Bale can have a crack, Bostock and/or Rose could be worth a punt and Lennon can also switch if need be.

  4. I have to agree... Dos Santos has to be the most exciting young talent at the club and next in line for a run out for the 1st team (unless he is loaned out). I am sure that Harry will give him a go once we get a few games into the season and with 7 on the bench, he can carry him as a last 20 minute 'impact' player.

    I would be disappointed if we bought Belhadj to be honest and I dont think Citeh would let Petrov come to9 us anyway.

    I think our summer spending is done, save and unless we go for a centre midfielder, which I guess is linked to us selling Bentley to Viall and / or Boateng to Pompey.
  5. Just looked up Dos Santos's stats and they are better than I thought. I am not sure that he will make the grade but surely a player that scored 4 goals in 8 Ipswich Town games last season is worth a bit of a run. i also like the look of Rose - he just seems to "go for it", which a lot of our players need to do more.
  6. I also agree that Dos Santos should be given a few games if Modders is rested or injured. Keano spoke so highly of him recently to.
  7. I watched Gio all this summer and he's got his mojo back. Haven't seen him play this good since he won the U-17 championship with mexico.
