He is thinkning of selling Pav and playing keane out on the left. So thats solved.
Now if you buy a centre back whats the point wasting millions on an average centre back when we have corluka huddlestone dervite and maybe even palacios. Plus woodgate and dawson will be back in a few weeks maybe a month !

Good article. I agree with you on us not signing another striker but concentrating on getting in a center back and a left winger as back up to Moderic.

But don't you think Huntelar is a better striker than Pav? I do and if Pav leaves, I'd welcome in Huntelar.

I also believe Pav isn't going anywhere in my opinion. Can't say that we are going to go after another forward at this point either.

Pav has shown he has a great eye for goal, the only problem is he lacks urgency and that worries me somewhat. The area we need to focus on is our defense. That will be key to our survival next season.

Key to survival? Do we not have aspirations since the City lot have flashed the cash?

We have been waiting for a left winger for years, another season wont make a difference, especially since our form since harry took over was top six. Our real issue at the moment is a centre back, get someone solid (Richard Dunne? City dont want him) that can be one of the four first teamers and lets get the season started.

Just been told by a colleague here in the office (massive Villa fan) that Martin O'Neill has made Jermaine Jenas his prime target.

We would all love to see Huntelaar come to spurs he is better then all our forwards and scores goals for fun But and a BIG but at that we really need to buy a CB or 2 and we still havent solved the left mid problem thats been going on season after season i think Modric will play there so if that the case lets get someone good to partner Palacios as Jenas is shit and Hudd is far too slow Livermore id say maybe next season wiv some game under him ...Expect to see a couple come and a couple go but dont think Huntelaar will be 1of them he will go AC Milan

Villa's squad is smaller than last seasons and we all saw what happened last season.

Is no one else wondering why MON has signed two players who play left wing? First Downing, now Delph? Preparing for Young to leave perhaps. Swapping Young for Jenas and Bentley - they get two players who will be good for their team and we get one who would be good for ours and reduce 2 wages into one.

I also find O'Neill's signings very strange. He's losy Laursen and Barry but insists on signing left wingers and not replacing the spine of his team.

If he doesn't sign anyone else, I expect them to suffer greatly this season.

Maybe if we could combine Villa's fetish with left sided players and our fetish of right sided players, we could probably both come out with decent balanced teams!!

To say Jenas is shit demonstrates only a shallow understanding of the game.
Concaf, the Central American equivalent of the European Cup, gave the player of the tournement award to a striker who also plays on the left. Mecico's no.1 attacking player, I reckon we should buy him not Huntelaar...

To Massiveyid. Get your facts right the Concaf player of the tournament was Dos Santos (left wing) not Vela (Gooner) the striker. As for Jenas I watched the last two pre season games and didn't realise he was on the field! Get yourself a new white stick

Dos Santos is a Striker who can play on the left... I think Massiveyid was speaking sarcastically about Dos Santos getting a chance at the lane....

I think he needs another year in the Championship first.

Jenas has flattered to decieve for too lomg, he does an average job, nothing more. Doesn't contribute enough golas, gives the ball away too much, shows no exceptional intelligence for a killer pass. He makes himself available due to his industry. but will never be a match winner. We have Palacios (superb signing, although he gives the ball away as well), we now need someone in the Gascoigne / Beardsley / Merson role as we never seem to be able to set up any play through the middle with any guile and panache. Modric may be able to do it, but i still feel he will be marked out of the game, and may not contribute enough golas. We are still too reliant on long balls, or Tom thumping it out to Lennon for a killer run followed by no end product. We have good enough strikers, we just don't have anough imagination to vary our play.

I dont think he's willing to sit and wait... I think he's lightweight, and given the current size of our midfield (Modric, Lennon etc) it makes it hard to put him in without removing our better and more consistent player.. maybe the odd cameo and carling cup football would make him feel like he has made some progress... If I had just taken apart a huge tournament i might feel like im ready for more than second rate football?

My question is why not? Klaus Would add to the team and we can go after multiple players at the same time... Him and the centre back, Midfield can all happen.. Harry will also be after players in the other areas.. Therefore there is no problem....

Jenas is so average its unbalivable his passinng his poor he dont score enough goals and he ceertainly dont get stuck in Sell him to villa for 10m or summin lyk that nd try nd bring in sum 1 lyk joe cole. surely we can now play the long ball game to good effect with the signing of crouch, lennons final ball must improve with that big a striker to aim for, aswell we posess the right talent to also keep the ball on the ground and pass which again mr crouch is perfect for cause he has a brilliant 1st touch for a guy of his size, bent couldnt hold ball up very well which is why he never was as good as his price tag suggested but again its 1 of crouchy's main attributes, peter crouch can bring so many different dimensions to our team which is why arry has signed him and i for 1 think its a good signing, the amount of defenders he draws to him on the attack will only free up defoe even more and i believe defoe is gonna be deadly this season oh and also crouch can defend from set pieces so its like having an extra CB in the box, most fans dont see him as an ideal spurs player but for 9m surely that is excellent business, do we need KJH? i dont think we do as would much rather spend bent m…

Let's forget KJH - A central defender is top priority, lets look at Richard Dunne, as defensive cover, Knows the Prem inside out and will probably be content with starting a handful of league games and most cup games. And the way city are spending he'll be available. We really do need to be scouting for a good solid Centre half for next season, who can take the team onto the next level, where we all want to be. Can't see that Leds and Woody will have many more seasons in their legs.
Lets keep Jenas, I guarantee that he'll be missed if he goes.

If Harry is looking to bring him in, then we've got to ship out another striker (Pavlyuchenko most probably).

As I said, that's easier said than done. As we've seen with the Bent saga, Levy's one hard nut to crack. He'll definitely want the 13.8 million we spent on him 11 months ago back, if not more.

Which club is going to do that. That's why I believe it's a no go for Huntelaar.

If we want to compete against the top four/five, then we need world class players. This year we only need to concentrate on domestic cups and prem thus, an opportunity to beat the teams we should and upset/draw the top four. To do this, we need Klaas cause he is world class and will improve our team. But, he will need service. Yes, Lennon can run like the wind and occasionally, get past a defender, but can he deliver to Klaas/Crouch and JD? Hmmmn?

Any one else think Arsenal are gonna finish top4 this year? Sad to see the they are struggling finacially.. Ha ha ha..
