Would you sign Michael Turner?

I personally think all this talk about us being interested in Michael Turner has only circulated because Hull are also playing in the Far East and more importantly, because we need to sign a defender.

Michael Turner is a great centre half. I've seen him play a few times and the lad means business. Whether we can get Hull to part with their star player is another matter as they're having problems of their own in signing anyone decent.

If it was a tussle between us signing Turner or Bassong, I'd definitely go for Turner. He's stronger on the ball and scores a few to.

On another note, it seems that Darren Bent has made his way back down south after Sunderland agreed and then disagreed on the amount we want for him. Depending on what you read, Levy was holding out for around £15 million. That's a decent price for a striker that will most definitely get them 20+ goals a season.

Robbie Keane and Villa have also been mentioned in the same sentence. As I've said before, I cannot see Keano starting many games in the Premier League now that Crouchie has signed. Would I be sad to see the lad go? Probably not.

Oh, and apparently, we're still interested in Huntelaar. Real Madrid need to submit their 25 man squad for the season soon and the talk in Madrid is that he won't be a part of the new-look squad. That will signal a race to sign him at a knock down fee.

If we do end up getting him and he scores a few, expect Defoe to be unhappy. Everyone says that you need four strikers, but no one tells you how you can keep them all happy!

  1. Darren Bent will sign for them. I've heard that Levy now wants the money up front, and thats the problem.
  2. Keane will be back to his best and Defoe will end up warming the bench, wait and see. he is a better player then Defoe. Don't assume that Defoe and Crouch will start together as they did before. Remember Robbie scored many goals off big men in the past for Ireland and when he gets back to form offers far more then any stricker we have . as for being captian ...well trappatoni thinks he is a good punt so thats good enough for me

  4. Yeah your right... History will repeat itself, Keane will emerge as first choice over Defoe as happened before. He offers so much more. Can anybody honestly say Defoe should start in an away game?!
  5. Agreed, people seem to forget what happened a couple of seasons back when Keane found himself on the bench in prefrence to Defoe. After a couple of game changing sub apperances he was back in the team. The mans a fighter.... Defoe will sulk, as he always seems to do if not picked.

    He's like a guy that has been forced into an arranged marriage. He's just not happy any longer and we need to sever the relationship with him.
  7. Turner to Spurs is a non-story. He recently signed a 4-year contract and is going nowhere......cheap.

    If City were to cash in on the 12 million it would take to prise him away, then its goodbye Premier League for sure.

    The Tigers need to build a team around him as he is the backbone of the squad. Sorry Spurs, look elsewhere.

Give the man a chance, hes only been back for 16 weeks of actual premiership football and in that time redknapp played him really deep almost in midfield. Just look at the results for us last season before his arrival and after. Have you heard that hes not happy? Coming back would have been hard for him, but at least he had the character to say he was wrong to leave
  9. robert huth 3 million a great backup in defence well experienced and very cheap. Keane to leave and in come huntellar, keanes lost it big style.
  10. whoever thinks keane will take defoes place is just retarded. are you watching the same as me... the bloke who wrote our season changed when he was brought in... no our season was changed when palacios was brought in and we reverted back to a balanced side with modric on the left and 2 upfront. defoe was on fire before he got injured and then again for last couple games.

    keane done absolutely nothing. i'm a season ticket holder and i watch everything, his movement has become poor, his attributes are worse, slow, weak on the ball, cant header for shit.

    defoe looks a mile better this pre season. dfoe and crouch will always be first choice. harry has managed them like 7 or 8 times combined... thats consistency that he wont break for a poor performing irishman.

    Turner would be a great buy.... but i'd love Shawcross from stoke. class player and still very young... Huth is shit.

    Keane I doubt will be going anywhere - I strongly suspect that he will be awesome alongside Crouch.

    Although Spurs should aim higher.
