Huntelaar is still plan A

"There's a lot of talk about who I may or may not be after but Huntelaar is the one I like", said Harry.

This is interesting. All the talk has been about Crouch joining us, but it looks likely that Klass-jan Huntelaar may be our first significant signing of the summer.

Harry Redknapp summed the player up by saying "The lad is a very good goalscorer". He sure is, or was in Holland.

Talk around the place at the moment is that Arsenal are interested in him to, so if we are to sign the lad, Harry's got to move fast.

If we do get him, we'll have 3 out-and-out strikers in Jermain Defoe, Darren Bent & Klass-jan Huntelaar.

Don't be surprised if we sign Huntelaar and Crouch. If that happens, I can't see Pavlyuchenko or Bent sticking around.

  2. Can I ask where you found Harry's quote on Huntelaar?

    He and Crouch would be a great addition to the team. I know Bent can score goals but his lack of hunger is what kills me. I mean, watch Defoe attack and least you feel like we have a shot at goal. I'm not too keen with our potential 20-goal-a-season scorer being a poacher!

    Crouch can assist well and set up Keano and Defoe. For me, I would not mind seeing Bent leave if we can get some good money for him.

  5. I really hope that we can bring in Huntelaar. It's obvious that he doesn't want to go to Stuttgart, even though they've had a bid accepted. His wages are reported at £60,000 a week, which isn't too bad if it's true. So what's holding it up?

    I hope the Kyles will be good signings, but surely a player like Huntelaar should be a higher priority.
  6. dont anyone think that perhaps rednapp is offering pav to arsenal, to favour wenger so he wont bid for hunteelar! if you think back to january we pulled out of the craig bellamy deal just so man city would let us sign palicios (thankfully it worked)....what does everyone think?

    btw i hope we dont get crouch, hes an alright player but he just make the team play poor football long ball everytime we get possetion...Crouch and bent are for relegation fighters who finish 11th 10th and are thankful for the goals and comitment...if we seriously want to challenge for europe next season crouch is not an option...if we cant get hunteelar we should try for podolski!!!
  7. Get real peeps.. I would love Huntelaar to come to Spurs, however with Ar53na1 have just sold a striker, and in Champions league, they will want a replacement and Huntelaar would be more needed by them... hence we will end up with Croach... just look at the Arshavin and Keane example!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE F&*&ing hurry up and sign the HUNT, if we beat about the bush then its sure that the Scum Arsenal will be in for him, but i believe that i we are able to get Huntelaar then the tide in North London might change this forthcoming season, and finally Spurs with be returned as the pride of North London, Come on Harry, pull ya finger out, talk is cheap, let see the boy in a Spurs shirt by the Wembley Cup if not before.
  9. Mate, only reason we didn't get Arshavin was because zenit wanted more than 18 million. Then - when they were willing to take less - Arsenal were in for him and naturally he chose them.

    Arsenal won't be going in for another striker. Look at the recent quotes from Arsene. Truly think this might actually happen. Don't think we should lose pavy though. Definitely Bent. If Harry is in for him - which evidently he is - I am really interested to see who is going to end up leaving. Club captain Keane?!!
  10. We definitely won't be going for Crouch. Harry redknapp is at a bigger club than portsmouth now - and he knows it. He is being complimentary about crouch to keep his options open. He also wants crouch to well because he thinks he is a legend... which he is. But he is not big enough - metaphorically - for tottenham.

  13. I wouldn't say that Huntelaar is an Arsenal type player, not much pace and not particularly skillful. Would be a great signing if we could get him, but who would he partner, Huntelaar and Defoe seems too one dimensional.
  14. One dimensional? That doesn't make sense. You have every aray of attacking talent available with Defoe and Huntelaar. Pav is lazy, shame because he possesses talent in there somewhere whereas Bent is fairly energetic but fails to attack the opposition like Defoe does for example.
    Huntelaar was worth the gamble when he was at Heerenveen, great in the air, holds up play just as well as Berba and can score with either foot.
    We have to get in there before Arsenal.
  15. As much as I'd love to see Huntelaar at Arsenal, he'll be up the road from me next year and not the seven sisters either. AW won't go for him. He'll be at Spurs or Chelsea.
  16. He doesn't earn 60k per week. He would have to earn 100k per week in the PL to match his wages at Real (higher taxes plus the wages in Spain are reported in net income - that confuses a lot of English journalists)
